Hawk's former father-in-law, Jason Cutler hated Hawk and wanted to keep him away from Michael. Cutler offered Hawk "the finest rig money can buy" to stay out of Michael's life. Lincoln responded by beating up Cutler's bodyguard, then going on to win the arm wrestling tournament and the affection of his son.
