In The Mandalorian season two episode titled "The Tragedy", Boba Fett made his return to the Star Wars Universe. In this episode, Din Djarin took the Child to the ancient temple on Tython, and placed him on the seeing stone at its center. Boba Fett soon arrived and explained that the armor worn by Cobb Vanth belonged to him, as his father Jango was a Mandalorian foundling. Din Djarin agreeed to return the armor in exchange for the safety of the Child, just as Moff Gideon arrived and deployed stormtroopers. Gideon destroyed the Razor Crest from orbit before deploying his droid Dark Troopers, who succeeded in capturing the Child. To honor their deal, Boba Fett promised to help Din Djarin get the Child back.
