In First Blood, John Rambo was a drifter who was told by Sheriff Teasle to leave Hope, Washington. When he refused to leave, Rambo was arrested and assaulted by the police force. Rambo used his training as a soldier to escape into the forest as Teasle and his men chased him. Rambo never fought a battle he couldn't win, and he held a knife up to Sheriff Teasle's throat and said, "Don't push it or I'll give you a war you wouldn't believe. Let it go." Teasle did not take Rambo's warning seriously, thrilling chase continued until the very end of the movie.
