In Mothra vs. Godzilla, a reporter found an egg in wreckage caused by a typhoon. Scientists discovered that the egg held Mothra's larva. When Godzilla emerged and got close to the egg, Mothra attacked Godzilla to protect the egg. Though Mothra put up a good fight, Godzilla won the battle with its atomic breath. The larvae hatched, trapped Godzilla with their silk spray, and forced Godzilla into the sea.
