Mickey Goldmill retired from boxing in 1947 with an impressive record of 72-1. He later opened his own boxing gym in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There, he trained many boxers including Sylvester Stallone as "The Italian Stallion" Rocky Balboa. In 1976, Mickey trained Rocky for his bout with the reigning champion, Apollo Creed.
